I think we are all, in one way or another, prisoners of our family's micro-cultural political and social belief systems, whether we like it or not. We are programmed at a very young age based on our economic and social status, and unless we are able to get a sense of complete control over our lives, have difficulty ever getting any type of distance from this early belief system.
Can you identify specific aspects of the GOP/Republican political platform that you agree with? It would be interesting to list them, just for your own information, I think.
As for me, I have voted Democrat my whole life, and I think I could make a list of the assumptions I am operating on responsible for that voting pattern.
Happy to dialogue about this.
Sincerely,
Chris
