Do current events depress you even more?

Posted by regisx on June 12, 2016, at 20:22:18

I'm already depressed in the first place. I have a lot of reasons to be depressed but what's happening in the world right now makes me feel so much more depressed and hopeless.
How about you?
I mean how can you even have some kind of hope for the future when things can basically only get worse?
I feel like what's happening now in the western world will change the world forever. How could this even be reversed? The millions of muslims which are now coming in won't go back to their home countries. They'll stay and this will cause a lot of problems in the long run.
We don't even know how many terrorists are among them. But terrorism is not the only issue. It's already an issue if they don't want to accept western laws and don't respect women and want to enforce their sharia law upon others.

Anyway, this whole stuff is so dragging me down to a point where I don't even want to go outside anymore.

Every time when I hear on the news that terrorists blow something up or that they shoot people or even that muslim crowds raped women in Europe (in arab countries this is totally common that there are raping sprees!) it totally drags me down. I can't simply ignore it and think this doesn't affect me cause it does.

I just want to live in peace and not have to worry about being attacked or being blown up at a train station or at a football stadium.
Maybe in the future it'll be like in Israel where terrorists blow themselves up on a daily basis.

The thing is, terrorist attacks are very rare. If you're like me though, you watch the news and see all these bad things happening and then start to get this feeling like this stuff is happening everywhere, which then can cause depression and anxiety.

Have you ever tried a news fast?
