economy

it must be said that in Europe not everything is that bright economically. Only in the core countries like Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland, Netherland, Norway, Sweden, BeNeLux, Finnland it's still not that bad.
But when I listen to the 60 beatles generation even in the core countries all seems to be more difficult. Whereas people in the sixties were for years in holidays maybe in india or in new zealand or elsewhere, now everyone is always concerned about loosing the job, or just concerned about everything.

The political dynamics will be interesting. Future generations will be right to be angry with my generation.

On a projected rate of 3% growth, if the whole world had a western standard of living, we would need 8 or 10 planets, so it's not going to happen.

We seem to be at the disastrous end of a particular kind of economics, and we don't know what is to come.

It looks like we won't be able to borrow or grow our way out of it.

That's why we have war, disease and famine...physical, cultural and social evolution.

Also it's time to stop technology in it's tracks. Technology is becoming evil.

I actually like computers or other technical stuff.
But personally, I have a very pragmatic approach to such things. When there is a benefit: yes, if you could waste to much money or time: no.

I especially like my garmin dakota 20 device with topographical and street maps. It helped a lot in cities and in nature, furthermore you don't pay any money for data traffic.

Id very much like to boycott computers, but have become attached to talking with friends in far away places. They are of no interest to me for anything else. Here in Dakar they are at that stage of the love affair that people clutch their ipad thingos all the time, and no doubt go to sleep holding them. I tried to use a mobile phone, but I didn't know how to switch it off, and was so uninterested in learning. It is so much easier not to bother. I never even answer the phone at home now. How much of life can I dispense with? Lot of slavery things here. I actually saw the guns they used in The Guns of Navaronne, so I was told, on the Ile de Gore.
