I imagine Americans are for the most part relieved that the new administration is taking the country in the right direction.
I cannot remember any political leader being so evenhanded and decent as this.

This is certainly the first US president of my lifetime who can get millions of people to not only listen to his speeches but actually believe them.
Maybe the last one to do that was FDR?

I don't know, but I sure do believe and am inspired by him. It's such a good combo of feelings: awe, inspiration, relief, hope, pride, wonder, renewal, excitement, confidence, optimism, energy...I could go on and on. I hate to sound like I'm gushing, but I really feel that way. This man really has got the goods, in my opinion.

He's pretty damn good. I am so used to hearing our leaders lie and misrepresent the past that I feel quite strange when I listen to him, and I'm very moved, for reasons that escape me. People here watch his speeches on youtube and talk about them at parties.

I think it's relief. One more serious terrorist attack and the anglosphere would have gone completely fascist. That's what I felt anyway.
