I cannot fathom how a company who's work is so poor that a soldier was electrocuted in the shower, would even be considered for more work in Iraq. But I don't think we should have a need for showers in Iraq.

That building is really strange...sorta scary.
I just read an article about trouble in Australia? Southeast?

Yes, right down near Melbourne.
I don't know the latest but I heard 80 people dead, 800 homes destroyed, 800 people in hospital maybe. The south of Australia gets terrible summers....dry and hot.
I wonder if this is part of climate change?
They had 40C temperatures for a long while, everything dries out, and then the fires start.

Sounds like California. I'll send very positive vibes to citizens and firefighters.

Every time I hear a new figure it is higher.

1,200,000.
Makes you think about who counts and who doesn't.

This is what we've done. I guess I can't mention the circumstances that caused the carnage but I hope someone, someday, is held down and one of these articles is read to that person.
1,200,000. Try to think of it as one of our big cities..yours or mine. All gone. Homes, shops, schools, hospitals and citizens.

Joe Biden spoke at a security conference in Munich.
http://open.salon.com/content.php?cid=103919
here is a part of his speech...
We believe international alliances and organizations do not diminish America's power -- we believe they help advance our collective security, economic interests and our values.
So well engage. Well listen. Well consult. America needs the world, just as I believe the world needs America. But we say to our friends that the alliances, treaties and international organizations we build must be credible and they must be effective. That requires a common commitment not only to listen and live by the rules, but to enforce the rules when they are, in fact, clearly violated.
Do you think what I think about the last sentence in the above paragraph?

I like Joe Biden.
Figures from the previous US administration convinced me more that they meant what they said than that they said what they meant.
Biden is that unusual politician who does both.
This is the end of the thread.
