A True Gem

>Afghanistan has gone from a nation where the Taliban harbored al-Qaeda and stoned women in the streets to a young democracy that is fighting terror and encouraging girls to go to school. Iraq has gone from a brutal dictatorship and a sworn enemy of America to an Arab democracy at the heart of the Middle East and a friend of the United States.

I can just imagine him replenishing the coffers on the speaking circuit.

Is it today that Mr Howard receives the Presidential Medal along with Mr Blair and Sr Uribe from the hands of President Bush?

Well, the times could have been worse, I suppose.

Oh, indeed. I could see him collecting up to the...hundreds of dollars! He MIGHT (I just heard this was a rumour..so...please...keep it like that..) even be listed on **Wikipedia.com**!! And I know he will be a good humanitarian, because he really is one deep inside, and donate the money to a peasant child in Afghanistan who's father is strung out and addicted to opium, and sells the stuff to unnamed sources(i.e. they come from the Western direction). Of course, thanks to countries like Canada, the U.S., Australia et al, we've made a nice modern facility for opium dealers in Afghanistan. God bless us all! :) And may George W. be blessed too! Maybe he'll eventually get that "Speak & Spell" after all! Feel the love!!

>hundreds of dollars!

Well, John Howard got $60,000 for going to Nigeria and telling them they had a great future provided they had good governance.

It looks like the bookies will have to pay out on Obama.

Please don't post anything that could lead others, including citizens of the U.S. or supporters of George Bush, to feel accused or put down.

Dinah, acting as deputy to Dr. Bob

What did I say that was uncivil? I said he was being 'optomistic'!! And that was/is the American way! I think I deserve an apology.

The part that was uncivil (and it was discussed beforehand and I agreed) is:

> Ever since he started that new 'Humanitarian' organization, "Bombs, Not Food.."

>I think I deserve an apology.

If you think a deputy has acted incorrectly in posting a request to be civil, please contact Dr. Bob directly by email.

We have also asked Dr. Bob to review all recent actions on this board. I'm unsure if he has completed that yet, but I don't think so.
