>That column, penned by cultural critic David Ehrenstein, argued that Obama could serve as a balm to whites who felt guilty about past treatment of African Americans.

It's odd. Why are the people at the centre so provincial?

Part of Obama's background is obviously from East Africa, not west Africa, which is where the slaves came from (isn't it?).

I know they're all d*rk**s, but even so.

I'm still trying to come up with something to say about it. I'm stunned. RNC think it is funny?
Yes, I'm still stunned.

That lot will be interesting to watch, but I would hope to see Obama outflank them by being inclusive and non-divisive, and by carrying the American people with him on this.

We should have learned from the politics of the last 20 years, and so we need to pay attention to these people.

One thing I find interesting is that controversy sells newspapers/books/media stories/advertisements in conspiracy theory publications,ect...so my question is, "Just who is it really balm for?" Let the man do the job he was elected to by the vast majority of his country. The answer to any question that has ever been asked is--"Time will tell."

As I recall from the days that my daddy helped campaign for various politicans, the losers indulged themselves in the finer arts of thinking that they were "letting the cat out of the bag". Like a "leaked memo" was going to hurt anyone after the fact. Who knows?

I'll bet some of these people are paid by Rupert Murdoch, who keeps a stable of such, along with other more important breeds, so that when the time is right he can put his hand out.
