..to those who worked hard for/supported Senator Obama - now President-elect Obama! Wow!
Politics and views on issues aside, he ran an effective, perhaps even brilliant, campaign.
But *far* more importantly - and why I wanted to post - is to see a man of color elected president has me in tears - it's almost too amazing and wonderful to believe. It says so much for America, for the potential a whole culture *can* change and shake itself loose from the evils and wrongs of the past, for hopes and dreams for little children of color....not just the promise, "anyone can become President in America..." but now the proof they can see. I think is is one of the greatest things I've witnessed.
Though I was not a supporter, I am an American and I will always support my President to the best of my ability. I pray for him, his family and all those with the awesome responsibility of leading the United States.
I'm actually sitting here yelling at the TV because the supporters of Senator McCain are booing when he mentions Senator Obama's name during his concession speech. (Senator McCain was frowning and discouraging that reaction, I thought) I know....it's a disappointing and emotional moment for those so directly involved, but I keep saying, "no, no, NOT 'boo' - THIS is how our system works, and this is the decision!"
Sorry - I'm rambling, but I love my country and I get really emotional myself...
This is an historic night indeed.

I think is is one of the greatest things I've witnessed.I am older than most who post here and to see this happen in my lifetime means that I won't be so scared for the future of my children and grandchildren. To actually see so many Americans work together, sacrifice time and money, speak from their hearts and then DO IT...is a beautiful thing.
