I felt somewhat chastened reading a review of a book ("Occupational Hazards: My Time Governing In Iraq" by Rory Stewart, the (British) Deputy Govenor of the Basra region for the CPA).
Such a very difficult position in which such people are placed.

it doesn't get easier with time. i really hate this. in one of my speeches, i say "it isn't a war, it's a lie".........and it bothers me a lot to lose someone that i love very much to something so lame.
