This was a popular gift in our house:

"Destined for Destiny: The Unauthorized Autobiography of George W. Bush"

I found this comment in one of the reviews:

"Look at the pictures in the middle first because they are just creepy, hilarious, but creepy, perfect for Halloween. "

Clearskies, could you describe the pictures in the middle? I would really like to know.
Are they creepy and hilarious or just creepy?

I'm feeling sorrier for him by the minute (it's a character thing, I can't help it) and all those other people whose names I forget will end up avoiding the blame because it wasn't their fault that the Iraqis were ungrateful and unworthy or that the plan was poorly executed by Rumsfeld and Bush.

Has he been looking a bit peaky lately? Could that be it?

Gerald Ford just died, and in an interview published after his death he tells he opposes the Iraq war.

Could that make someone peaky?

Gerald Ford is certainly a reminder (to me) of a gentler time.

Perhaps he was such a decent man because he wasn’t elected, sparing him the meatgrinding microscope that was the process even then.

His reputation for being clumsy was due to his being left-handed in a right-handed world. The slip on the aircraft stairs is a great example. When he got on the plane they used a stairway with rails on both sides. When he got off, looking and waving at the crowd, he reached to his left for the railing only to learn (the hard way) that there wasn’t one.

Actually, I bought the book as a gift for someone else and just read some of the text. When I picked my laughing self off the floor, I decided it was one of my picks for the best book of the year. I didn't see any photos!

I found the synposis and reviews further down the page on the Amazon linked page. (If I clicked on the image of the book, I got to see a bigger picture of the cover. If I closed the window I went back to the original page, where the book info was.)

Maybe Bush or O'Reilly ripped the pages out.

Please be sensitive to the feelings of others (such as supporters of Bush).

But please don't take this personally, this doesn't mean I don't like you or think you're a bad person.

If you or others have questions about this or about posting policies in general, or are interested in alternative ways of expressing yourself, please first see the FAQ:

http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html#civil
http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html#enforce

Follow-ups regarding these issues should be redirected to Psycho-Babble Administration. They, as well as replies to the above post, should of course themselves be civil.

Thanks,

Bob
