but i am sad about the 11 mericans killed in the last 2 days. war is h#ll. which is why , perhaps, it shouldn't be entered into lightly. maybe shouldn't be entered into until the facts are in. just a thought.

It was 'we don't do body counts', then 40 was bandied about, then the Lancet did its study (when?) and came up with 100 (doesn't seem so long ago) and now (suddenly?) we are at 650. Maybe no one has a clue. The political process (here certainly) isn't going to enlighten anyone. The PM is very careful, pretty adept, fast enough on his feet. The long practice of this level of adherance to principle changes one, however....I noticed last night...his face is actually changing.

Normally the PM does a pretty good Australian Values number. The footage from Iraq last night didn't permit this. Something naked came through, something not normally seen, an ideological committment perhaps.

"something naked came through" What a beautiful, authentic phrase. Thank you
from the bottom of my hyperbolic heart.

I got a bit paranoid. Saw an ad for"The Architect. Karl Rove and the Master Plan for Absolute Power" by Moore and Slater.
This is the end of the thread.
