From this morning's paper:'It was the right thing to do and if we had it to do over again, we'd do exactly the same thing', Vice President Dick Cheney told Tim Russert on Meet the Press this week.
Russert (astonished): Exactly the same thing?
Cheney: Yes Sir.

So, two scenarios:
1) He's blowing smoke up our tailpipes. Everybody in the administration speaks the same Newspeak. Once you've told a lie as big as they have, you either have to own up or keep acting like it's the truth.
2) He (and Bush and the administration) truly believe this. But not because of the smoke they've been blowing, but because of the effects it has had.
No way to speak civilly about option 2, so I'll stop now.
