With recent talk of South Carolina seceding from the union, I remembered some predictions a college professor made about 30 years ago:
Northern Californians would vote to break (perhaps in more ways than one) from Southern California and form their own state.
The Pacific Northwest would eventually join the westernmost Canadian provinces and form a new country, both regions seceding from their respective countries.
And I'll add one of my own predictions: Hollywood will annex Iowa for access to the corn fields (for movie sets).
