The nice lady on TV explained that she gets two which makes her 160 years old :)
But as for me I remain dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal and that they are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights among them the right to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
And so with my untugged forelock waxed into a spike straight up towards heaven I remain an American idealist :)

Isn't she cool? I really like her. Australia will one day become a republic and there will be an elected head of state. I hope we do it so the person who is elected can set an example to us about how to behave. Noblesse oblige.

I like her too. It's amazing to think how much history she's lived through. And she's just so DIGNIFIED. But likeable too... walking through the countryside in her headscarf and boots with her corgis. I saw her once when I was a child.

How cool is that that you got to see her in person!
I've always admired her, too, from across the ocean. She is quite dignified, but I suspect she is also warm and kind. I saw a documentary recently about her life. There was a brief clip of her receiving carolers at Christmas at whichever castle she was staying at then. Her smile and welcome seemed so genuine and relaxed, you know, like a real neighbor would be versus, well, the Queen. It was nice to see that side of her too.
