Are you sure he wasn't saying *three, three, three?*

Please respect the views of others and be sensitive to their feelings.

If you or others have questions about this or about posting policies in general, or are interested in alternative ways of expressing yourself, please see the FAQ:

http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html#civil

Follow-ups regarding these issues should be redirected to Psycho-Babble Administration. They, as well as replies to the above post, should of course themselves be civil.

Thanks,

Bob

Liberty and Freedom

I watched the Daily Show after the inauguration. They ran a counter at the bottom of the screen, counting all the uses of "freedom" and "liberty" during Pres. Bush's speech. Of course they edited it to show just the use of those words, so it was like being bombarded with just those two words. I believe the final tally had the total for the two words up over 100. Freedom won out over liberty. Somehow that reminded me of the Patriot Act, but then I can make loosish associations at times.

But a definite theme to the speech. And the Daily Show's bit was hilarious. I love that show!!!!!!!!

Ok, maybe someone can explain to me how the so called "Patriot Act" is about liberty and freedom. The way I see it is that it goes a long way towards denying those very things, actually, scratch that, that was the only purpose of this bill. I see us and the former Soviet Union as heading in opposite directions, they are headed towards freedom and sanity and we are heading in the opposite direction.

Sorry, I didn't mean to **** in your Post Toasties, I know this thread is just a joke but this topic just sets me off for some reason. Here is a really bad joke to even things out. Why did the cowboy adopt a daschund? Because the sheriff told him "get along little doggy".

Ha! That's a cute joke.

About the Patriot Act...um, you and I are not so far apart on what we think. I just couldn't think of a civil way to post what I wanted to say. So I hoping that someone might infer. Probably not a good idea for me to even reference it.
