I have some questions on gates, in general. It seems to me that gates are an entrance or exit in an otherwise impassable fence. Aren't fences meant to keep people out (as in the defences around cities of old) or to keep people in (as in the Berlin Wall). Fences may make good neighbors, but they aren't the best way to get people to live together as one. - Cam

I think he is due back any time. There is a Far Side cartoon about fences and territorial markings that is pretty good (a suburban privacy fence thicket). Interestingly, I found the lack of fences across several neighbors' property lines attractive when I bought my house. It makes everybody's back yard seem like *everybody* owns several acres. Of course, nobody had any LARGE DOGS they needed to keep out of other people's yards.

I'm sure he'll be glad to hear you're thinking about him. I wondered how he was getting along myself.

May I ask why you would wish to have such a dispruptive poster to return? I don't think I will ever forget all the chaos created here, and I most certainly don't want it to start up again. take care, judy

Disruption & chaos - exactly. It all came to such a head that it permanently influenced how I now view PB & why I post so infrequently. Best wishes to your health & your little angel.

Gosh Judy, I hate to do this. But calling a poster disruptive and suggesting that you would rather not have him return could certainly be seen as something that would lead another to feel accused or put down.
The civility rules apply to comments made to *anyone* on this board. Or at least they will while I'm filling in for Dr. Bob. And while Lou is currently blocked from posting, that does not mean he is not reading.
I am truly sorry to have to do this. And I hope it doesn't lead to hard feelings between us. I have always felt great affection for you. And this is the reason I really hesitated about volunteering.

Please, please let this go until Dr. Bob returns.
Please? It's not so much longer. Surely it can wait?
Enormously sincerely,
Dinah

I would never think negatively about you, I should have been more sensitive and I apologize. Dr. Bob gave me a chance to restate once, and I realized immediately what he perceived- just as a do your message. Don't worry, I am happy to let this drop. take care, judy
