I have used food as comfort all of my life. I think it will fill the empty hole within me up- even though it always makes me feel worse in the end. Whether I am down, happy, or bored I turn to food- specifically sweets! I have managed throughout the years to maintain my weight because I then diet after overeating. I am not a binge eater, just use it as comfort and crave it all the time. My question is has anyone out there had success with eliminating their addiction to food without having to "abstain" from eating trigger foods again? I want to be able to eat foods in moderation, such as one cookie instead of the whole box!!

There are some good books out there that deal with that sort of thing. One that my T and my N both recommended was "Intuitive Eating," another was "Overcoming Overeating." "Intuitive Eating" is very helpful, I think, for the sort of thing you're asking about.
Hope that helps.

I'd also love to eat ONE cookie, or maybe two, and not the box....not sure if it has anything to do with an addictive personality....that's me! So my SO tells me. Wish I could seriously get my hands on epedra here....but in this country..there's no way...and I know it's not an answer...self control, deal with my image issues....depression..sort that out.....huge road before I can get there and it's a vicious circle. One leads to the other.....
