Overweight and loving it

Posted by annamaynot on December 11, 2004, at 9:28:13

I eat too much. I have always wanted to, but it wasn't exactly possible growing up. My mother never put quite enough food on the table to be shared with four brothers, two parents and a rotten grandfather who molested and abused children. Whenever one of us kids did anything and was punished for it, we were consoled and conjoled (is that a word?) back into the family fold by a piece of cake left outside our bedroom door. My oldest brother says that the first thing any of us did when we left home was gain 25 pounds. When 'the folks' were still alive, he would wad up aluminum foil and toss it around whenever they phoned him. My reaction has always been to eat. Now I am old, fat and mostly don't worry about it. If it hasn't got starch, I don't eat it. I could survive happily on nothing but tea and cookies. I follow Marie Antoinette's advice: Let them eat cake!
