There's so little in English language fiction that I think is worth my while, and therefore I am surprised to be really enjoying J.M. Coetzee's "Youth". Beautiful writing (almost as good as John Banville). He lives in Australia now too. What he writes about seems clean and fresh, unlike any other Australian writer that comes to mind. I was impressed when he didn't turn up to the Nobel(?) ceremony because he didn't like public events.
I tried to find a link with Amazon, going through 100 possibilities. There sure are a lot of dismal looking books on youth out there

What is it?
This bloke has won the Booker twice and the Nobel prize.
How can there not be a link at Amazon?
There must have been 50 dealing with youth ministry.

"Disgrace" and "The Master of Petersburg" are great.
This is the end of the thread.
