I was thinking about adding taurine to my cocktail to see if it had any effect on GAD/depression symptoms. I see it is used to treat manic symptoms and thought that perhaps it would depress a unipolar (low) patient like myself with GAD. Any thoughts would be great! many thanks,

Mogger,
I used to take taurine to combat my lithium-induced agitation and irritability. It worked pretty well without worsening my depressive symptoms. The downside to it for me was that I used to have to keep taking more of it every few hours if I wanted its effects to last.
It might be worth trying it, if you haven't done so already.

glycine also seems to be a great, fast-working anti-anxiety agent. it's been a miracle in my Parnate withdrawal.

That is awesome. I wonder if it has any effect on glutamate or basically it would be interesting to know in laymans terms how it works on the brain.
This is the end of the thread.
