Question about the CES-D questionnaire

Posted by Noa on March 16, 2021, at 11:48:56

I have been completing the CES-D questionnaire every so often (tho not every time I get the reminder email). Today I looked at my saved data and noticed that it says that a higher score means a more severe level of depression. But some of the questions are statements of positive mood, such as I felt happy. There are a couple of others as well. How does that figure into the scoring, because a higher score on a question like that would be the opposite of a high score on many of the other questions that reflect low mood?

Its a depression inventory and you can register to get reminders (from Dr Bob.org) to fill it out periodically. Only you can see the results. Its a way to track your symptoms over time.
