Marketing

I would like to request the Psychobabble team of staffers perform some social media marketing in order to get more traffic at this site, especially at the medication forum.

Ads on FB and TWTR aren't expensive. Posts and memes are free. Do both. Get some new people and more traffic here.

It's difficult for patients to help educate each other and help each other when there are so few of them and no new ones.

Just get some posts, articles, news releases, whatever onto social media and start generating some interest.

Please.

how do you know that there is so little traffic ? in the new times dr bob boasted with 23'000 registered members and 940'000 posts. and what people do you want to attract ? When there are maybe less sick people than during the bush administration, then it could be construed as a positive sign.

I wonder where the people went, and whether marketing could get those people back...

I guess there would be demographic information about who those people were. Their average income, level of education, the average length of time they had spent in seeking / receiving psychiatric treatment.

I guess the population, here, evolved over time. Right back at the beginning of the Meds board it seemed to be primarily clinicians. Then, over time, less clinicians and and more patients. And so on...

It would be hard to pin down when to capture, if that makes sense...

I don't think marketing could get those people back. I don't think those were the people who were so susceptibe to marketing.

I don't think that people have a sense of the internet providing the same degree of anonymitity that it once did. I think people are much more aware now that what they have to say is much more likely to be viewed by their employer and so on. I don't think people feel as free to post personal stuff anymore...

And because more people are on the internet than there used to be people are hunkering dowm more in small groups.

And also... I think maybe financial incentive runs against a place like Babble... Babble (for a time there) had word of mouth as something that got people wanting to try certain meds... I wonder whether Babble itself was a form of marketing for pharma... One that has now outlived it's... Utility. I suspect the meds board came to be and went... And something like that. I don't know.

Is there really nothing like Babble Meds used to be?

What was it, to you? What are you seeking?

Yes, its not as if there have been fantastic breakthroughs in psychiatric treatments since PB started. I wonder too if people in general are considering the efficacy of medications in combination with other therapies.

yeah, they should consider not to participate here if possible and to seek alternative treatments like speech therapy, sport, life change etc. Even though the meds should not be ruled out completely. everyone is different but probably similar too.
