I can't handle that picture

Posted by 10derheart on April 29, 2013, at 22:43:02

Sorry to whomever I am offending, but it's true. Please Dr. Bob.....it's so disturbingly sad and chilling all at the same time.

Could we have something else?

ps - you do this on purpose, don't you?

and possibly...

sexual, which I think is not okay for Babble.

Provocative has a time and place, doesn't it?

I think it's sad, too. I see it as evocative rather than provocative. I like how few lines are needed.

My idea is to leave each of these up for a week. The next one is similar, but not sad. My gut reaction is that sexuality should be able to be discussed here. Maybe we disagree. What do you think?

Dr Bob since all view art or anything in different ways. I know both an old poster and my husband saw this pic as a female on a male and thought it pornographic in the way it was seen. I saw a female who looks rather suicidal almost and naked with breasts revealed. I after looking at the pics feel it is also not appropriate. I remember a pic on facebook of three females for breast cancer awareness month all beautifully displayed with breasts revealed but it was considered pornographic and removed. Seeing this is a mental health site. Could this not trigger inappropriate and possibly harmful actions on some that lurk and don't post? Just thinking out loud. Phillipa

Why did you end up feeling it was inappropriate? Did it trigger inappropriate or possibly harmful actions on your part?

Of course not but having been a certified psych RN I feel like I should protect others. But since posted this. I've looked again and find that it's a very despondant female and the nudity isn't revealing it's one person's depiction of a feeling of another. Artwork. To be interpreted in the eye of the beholder. And I can't be responsible for how others see things only myself. Phillipa

I've been wondering when someone will guess, or recognize one of these.

I think it was a drawing. One of a series of illustrations for a book? I didn't take notes. :-)
