Not to be a killjoy, but shouldn't this entire thread be on either Admin or Social since nobody's discussing meds? As for cloudbusting, is there really a high demand for that sort of thing? Reminds me of those folks who claim to be able to bend spoons by gently rubbing the necks until the heat bends them out of shape. A friend of mine actually did that once, and it worked. But, in my opinion, it was a waste of a perfectly good hour and a half...

Cam was one of the nicest, smartest, most helpful people I've ever known on this board. He was a pharmacist but he loved research.
He was Canadian and he and his wife and adult daughter were on vacation in Florida and his daughter was hit and killed by a reckless driver at an intersection if I remember correctly. I feel like I'm talking behind his back, I hope it's OK to talk about this. Obviously everyone was devastated.
I don't think Cam had an enemy on this board and he was loved. I miss him more than anyone that I've known here. But I miss many others too esp those we'll never see again. Cam was a gracious guy and he knew his stuff.

I seem to remember Cam being around almost like normal after she was killed. Obviously people are going to react differently I guess but I remember thinking, take some time Cam.
There was litigation involved and he would have to go back to Florida. I don't remember but he probably just kind of faded away. Everyone was very dependent on him because he was knowledgeable and good with words. He was decent.
I do wonder how he is. It was a long time ago. PB was very different in those days. It was just very active and there was much to learn.

Where have my words gone? I'm really happy to see you stopping by, Cam but sorry that things have been hard. I'm pretty much struggling myself which brought me back here.

Thanks Phil, you have no idea how much your words mean to me. I am no longer in the "psych" game (long story), but just work part-time as a relief pharmacist. Meh, it's a job (& only that).
If there is anything that I can help you with, just let me know. Just remember that I am no longer cutting edge, & have forgot most of the details. I do know where to look for the latest, though, if necessary.
Also remember that I tend to ramble, & my spelling is atrocious.

Still am a community pharmacist, although I do not work in the Mental Health field anymore. As of late I am semi-retired because I got tired of being a manager; the field has changed too much over the years (& not for the better).
As for being educated in psychopharmacology, I started specializing by accident just as the second round of SSRIs came out, & the newer antipsychotic/ mood stabilizers were released. I felt that I needed to know more than the pdocs, so I threw myself into learning.
This was back when all the psych journals were still free online, so I got online just as search engines were coming out. That is how I found this place.
All of this was done at the expense of my family & ego. Then my 18 year old daughter was killed, as Phil said, but that is another story for another time.

I actually found you on Linkedin a few days ago but didn't spill the beans on what you were up to.
I was DX'd bipolar I after 20 years of unipolar. My combo is working well but Seroquel scares the hell out of me. Lots of weight gain, (look this up(pisa syndrome, (I lean) but most of all possibility of diabetes. I've decided to stay with it. We'll see how it goes.
