yeah, I think it's been 3 months for Dr. Bob.
I don't find it disgusting, quite, but sad and....somehow....inevitable from some point way back I can't quite put my finger on.
I mean even though my child has been long grown up....for years...I still take a keen and regular interest in her life....I visit....I know what's up....
sigh. :-(

Possibly a successful experiment. This is a more attractive alternative than to be witnesses to black-or-white thinking and capitulation. Things seem to be working pretty good right now.

I guess I'm kinda not okay with it because the analogy of Babble being his child is strong for me.
Sure the child may be grown and not need you the same way -or as often overall - any more. But they still need you and want to hear from you.
Children should not have to beg parents to visit or even acknowledge their existence....

That's what comes to mind for me.
You've been invested in this site. It makes sense if it feels like a loss. I've been invested in my own way.
Maybe some clarification about the fate of this site is in order?

I have less than zero inside knowledge, BTW. Just educated guesses based on past experience which are wrong as often as they are right.
You should still be able to report posts, if that's what you are wondering. Deputy Racer seemed to be monitoring that pretty quickly a couple months back. I saw some things on meds at one point but thought the posters seemed to resolve things themselves. But it's a large board...or used to be :-)

I just said self-moderarting to mean posters are resolving issues for themselves. I didn't know what else to call it. Good to know there is still a deputy around.
I'm sorry you and some others are missing Dr.Bob. I haven't been here long enough to know the difference. I still like this site because of the people, hint, hint ;-) , and would like to see it continue to provide a good place for folks to find peer upport and peer guidance.
I don't know how this place works myself. A post on social prompted me to go to the newbie board. Has it always been posts frrom the server? I thought I recall newbies posting there if they wanted to. The boards here seem so discrete. I don't regularly visit them all.
But hey. I just asked you another question :-P. Oooops.
