Is DR Bob Really Dr. Bob??????

I don't know but Dr. Bob doesn't sound like Dr. Bob to me anymore. Anyone agree or disagree? Phillipa

What makes you think Dr. Bob is not really Dr. Bob?

Actually I thought there was something wrong with Dr. Bob for a while because he acted differently, but a deputy assured me it was Dr. Bob. He was just trying something new.

I think Dr. Bob is Dr. Bob. Nothing is wrong, all is well.

I see what you mean. He does seem a little more robotic lately. Perhaps he had an adjustment?

Tabitha something is different I feel it by his speech it's like he's learning to be an administrator. Wonder if there is an administrator in training. Just a thought. I also have another thought can't disclose here. Phillipa

>Wonder if there is an administrator in training

If you mean anyone other than the three deputies you know, and Dr. Bob himself, no, there is no one else "in training." Not sure if the other deputies would agree with this exactly, but there are times here we may feel we are all "training." Or more accurately, "retraining." Like when civility guideline issues and policies are at the forefront, and things appear to be changing or shifting focus, we may have to adapt, learn, take breaks, step back, or other things.

I can't imagine any scenario under which Dr. Bob would ever permit someone else to use his posting name to post here.

I really hope any speculation along this line does not take hold. It worries me people may become confused and anxious.

Dr. Bob is who he has always been, in the sense of his actual identity. Trust me, I hardly agree with or fully understand all of his recent (or some past, too, I'm sure) ideas and methods, but when I have engaged him in discussion about things, the person answering me *is* Dr. Bob.

I think people can change point of view, philosophy, habits, methods, even the "tone" in their writings on line, without literally being anyone else.

10derHeart I trust you. I've just heard rumblings from others about this topic so thought would ask. Thanks for writing back. Love Phillipa

To some extent or the other---I think we've all changed since the conception of Babble---as has Babble itself. It must be some Darwinian voo doo going on----but it's true,"The only constant in life--is change." Besides, did anyone come here to stay the same?

I like change, but only the change I like. :)

It really is Dr. Bob, and IMO, he's not behaving unlike himself in anything but what might seem to be philosophy.

He may have a new idea for the path Babble should take, but that's nothing new. He often has new ideas. And he generally introduces them exactly as he's introducing this one, IMO.

Sometimes when I read some of my old posts I don't even recognize them. They don't sound like me at all. But I know I wrote them. The written word is weird sometimes. Its easy to change the meaning if you imagine a different tone.
