I'm curious about others who have met in person. Did it make you like Babble more or less?
I'm glad I met Dr. Bob and Babblers in real life. I remember before I met Dr. Bob there were some times I thought he was scared of me and didn't like me and stuff. There is so much projection when it is only online communication!
Anyways, I think Dr. Bob knows me know. I've seen him on three separate trips now. I'm his friend, but I'm not sure if he is my friend, probably not cuz he doesn't share his problems with me like a normal friend and he doesn't support me. I try to support Dr. Bob whenever I can. It's a one way friendship, if that is possible. I don't think Dr. Bob minds.
At first when I met Dr. Bob, I was so scared, but I get less scared. This recent trip I wasn't scared. It was fun.
Anyways, I digress. Meeting Babblers in person makes me feel more connected. It is a lot of fun.
You get to see the other side of me in person. I like that you get to see my online me first because in person I am painfully shy and don't really talk. Here I can be myself.
It's interesting to see how people are different in person.

I've only ever met 2 babblers.
I missed the Toronto get-together (to my ongoing sadness).
I've thoroughly enjoyed meeting these 2 great people.
I guess it's made Babble feel somehow more real to me - like real people, instead of people I read about in a book. Hard to describe.

I'm one of those socially anxious types and I managed it.
A stiff whiskey helped, as I recall.

And only one.
Well, stranger things have happened.

I had two. One from here, one from elsewhere. Both were awful. Really bad emotional experiences.
Clearly I am a poor judge of character.

Sorry to hear that Bayleaf. What was bad about it?
I've only had good experiences with meeting Babblers. I've met a lot.
Babblers are awesome.
