Is there a protocol about posters who post on other boards? I have a hard time seeing a story that is being told here, being told differently elsewhere. It seems to me it would be uncivil to say "but you said X over on ABC-Board." Mostly I have just not responded at all but it feels like we are being lied to in some way. I don't know...
And I have a really hard time with posters who talk about Babble in a way that doesn't feel true either.
Perhaps I'm just being sensitive today.

You wrote,[...other boards...told differently elsewhere...over on ABC board...being lied to...talk about babble in a way that doesn't feel true...].
I am unsure as to what you are referring to and if you could clarify the following, then I could have the opportunity to respond accordingly.
A. are the other boards that you are referring to another forum or other boards here or something else?
B. in { being lied to}, could you post here:
1. being lied to by who?
2. what are the things that constitute the lies?
C. in {talk about babble} and {doesn't feel true}
1. could you post here what is it that is being talked about concerning babble?
2. if that doesn't feel true, does that mean that you do or do not know if it is true or not because of what you feel?
D. If there is another forum that has posts writing about this forum, could you post a link to the forum?
This is of great importance to me because of posts here that could be posted on other forums. If there are other forums that you are referring to and I could know of them, and you post here a link to them, then I maybe could have the opportunity to post there with my perspective.

Sorry Lou - I don't think there is anyway to respond specifically to your requests without being uncivil. I'm not talking about other boards here in Babble land but rather other internet boards.
I should let this go.

I shouldn't let stuff bug me like this. I know truth is subjective.
Might be because I'm currently sitting on a committee with someone who keeps saying "Daisy and I were in the same program..." and it is all I can do to not add, "yes, but I finished!"

No, Dr. Bob has never taken any actions related to uncivil posts on other sites (I think that's what you meant by other boards?) even if they are about PB or Babblers. Of course, we have no control over what others post elsewhere on the web. But you knew that :-)
>I have a hard time seeing a story that is being told here, being told differently elsewhere.
Yes. I could see how that might happen.
>It seems to me it would be uncivil to say "but you said X over on ABC-Board."
Yes, *here* it might be, depending how it was worded. I suppose you could post that, or something else, at another site, depending on what their rules are.
>Mostly I have just not responded at all but it feels like we are being lied to in some way. I don't know... And I have a really hard time with posters who talk about Babble in a way that doesn't feel true either.
Although general questions about overall policy are still fine here (and I think your initial question qualifies)I'd recommend using the Notification button here to go into further specifics, in order to avoid the possibility a Babbler or Babblers may think it is about them, and feel accused or put down. For example, someone could feel accused of lying....
> Perhaps I'm just being sensitive today.
That's allowed :-)
This is the end of the thread.
