In some cultures, it is considered uncivil, and even rude, to ignore people when they ask you a reasonable question.

star008,
You wrote,[...lack of...]
There is an expectation when one sees an advertisment. For instance, if a person sees an advertisment,"dog licences sold here", do they not when they go into the store have an expectation that they could buy a licence for their dog there?
But now, let us look at a hypothetical situation where one goes into that same store and asks for a dog licence and the owner says that they will not sell them one. The person asks why and the owner of the store says that the sign says that dog licences are sold here but it doesn't say when.
To be continued...
Lou

I know it's frustrating.

I get frustrated too.

But Dr. Bob usually reads all the threads on any given topic before he addresses it.

I remember I used to watch him go over the board, and he'd skip the really complicated stuff and do redirects or address other things. It didn't mean he didn't care about the stuff that was upsetting people. It meant he cared enough to make sure he understood everything before he answered.

I don't think it's a bad trait. It might be frustrating but it's got its up side.

You're very generous Dinah. :-)

Thanks for posting that. I agree with what star008 said above.

Thanks for being such a steadying influence Dinah.

luv, Kath

FRUSTRATED!!!!! I've been frustrated by the way things have been handled or sometimes mishandled for about 3 months. I chose just to quit posting for the most part. The way some of our most inspiring posters who share some of the most intimate details of their lives(which has to be incredibly difficult), but they do it in hopes of helping others have been treated in ways others thought were unkind. And the posters who come to their defense or try to support them, they get PBC'd or blocked. And then there is Dinah. It took months for me to muster up the courage to post my first thread. You were if my memory serves me correctly the first person to respond and your advice and your wisdom helped me immensely. I will never forget that and I thank you for that and for all that you have done for P-Babble. I wish there was a way that you didn't have to go, but if you do, I wish you all the best. You certainly deserve it!!!!! Also, I'd like to thank all of the other deputies past and present. You freely dedicate your time and what for? To at some point have the same thing happen to you that's happenning to our beloved Dinah? It's not fair. This communty has been asking for answers and getting basically nothing. We're hanging by a thread. Not in my opinion a good way to handle a "support-oriented" website. I'm usually pretty calm but when I decided to check out what's been happenning here, now I'm really fired up. I think the people of P-B habe been more than patient and deserve some answers soon, very very soon. Would a therapist who received an urgent call from a patient wait this long to get back to him/her? I don't think so. Consider this an urgent call from a patient!

Good idea and I e-mail with a poster that was ignored for a couple of days so I answered. To this day she says I was the only one to respond to her. I feel we should all acknowledge and answer any unanswered thread to validate that the person is asking for help even if we don't know anything about that problem. Fall down skin your knee be ignored if you're not a doctor? This is only a thought. Love Phillipa

Please forgive me. I meant no disrespect whatsoever to the deputies who issue the PBCs and blocks. They are just doing their jobs and following site rules. My apologies to the deputies if my post came across the wrong way. My issues are not with you. My sincerest apologies also for not changing the title of my post. Thank you Kath for pointing that out to me. I have a tendency to forget to look at those things and just post. ((Deps.)) ((Dinah)) ((Kath)) HUGS

Hi INAH - all I meant was at the bottom you were making an urgent appeal & I thought if the subject line held an indication of that, it might be read more quickly.

Sorry - I hope you didn't feel bad as a result of me writing that!!!

hugs, Kath

Kath,
I thought it was a great suggestion! Unfortunately, it seems it was in vain. Still no response from the ringmaster of the circus this once wonderful place may turn into due to the ineptitude and lack of concern by its leader. HUGS

Dinah, please come back and give me your last PB block ever. It would be more of an honor coming from an honorable person like you!
