Doesn't make me uncomfortable guess it's a bit like welcoming a patient in the hospital as a new admission. Plus I'm here a lot. Phillipa

Bob posted some links, but they all meds related so I don't have alot to say, and I just feel silly going and rambling?
I am not sure what I should say?
BOB-would it be appropriate to post a new post at the bottom of the meds board to more obviously notify the people of the meds board that there a new persons?
Or post a post with a link to this thread?
I agree if the person has taken the time register etc, then they are proly hoping for a response, and it would be sad if they did not get one.
I had another thot, can we have a group of "welcomers" that would automatically get email notifications of new persons? Maybe new persons could check a "newbie" box on the page or something? Sort of like the notify admin button? Then we wouldn't need a newbie board. Also new persons would proly get a more prompt response to their post with email notification.....
My thots...

I' making in part of my babble routine to swing by the newbie board..I'll gladly be a welcomer..might be gap in days if I'm out of town, but usually even then I can access a computer..
It's pretty scary being a newcomer, not just to Babble but in any life situation..and a warm welcome can help a person to relax and partake..and more importantly, come back.

OK, I just did it, based on:

I don't think it hurts to have two welcomes in a row..it may help the newbie to know they can get a quick response from more than one person..and they'll post again..

I agree, thanks, both of you. Also, they might not post again, but that doesn't necessarily mean they didn't read your replies. Plus I think it contributes to the overall atmosphere to see new people being welcomed.

Clearly seemed to be an "oops" type accident, to me. Ironic that with the automatic system on (as you have it) you could/can just use the 'real' word anyway.
No worries, muffled. You are fine with this.
And I think you need people. We all do. And that wouldn't be for the best. Perhaps.....some people, here and IRL, like to be needed? I know I do :)
hope you are okay ((((muffy)))
