Alot of posts show as just numbers, not topic.
Surely there's and easier way?

Hmm, because of "show all"? Can you give me an example? I've been thinking about bringing back the old search...

I'd love to have the old search back. The google one doesn't seem as complete.
I also think it would be able to search for recent posts by poster. I know at one time I objected to that, but I think times have changed.

I haven't searched much cuz I find it so frustrating.
I like when the whole thread comes up, thats good.
But what I don't like is when each separate post shows up, even when they in the same thread.
And its not always clear what the thread is even about...
It would be useful if threads could be amalgamated somehow as some seem to be.
Dinah said something as to searching by poster, that would be good too.
Also if the dates could be more sequential....
Maybe some of this stuff already exists?
I just just know that when I search I just get COMPLETELTY overwhelmed with all the stuff that comes up, and in my overwhelmedness it all seems to have no rhyme or reason. So I give up. The way it is now for me, the babble archives are almost useless. Which is sad, cuz there's lotsa good stuff in there I would love to read/research.
Thats my thots...

You can already search for posts by poster. How would "recent" work?

I've always found the current search to be very spotty and inconsistent. it comes up with multiple replies to the same inital post, bust omits the vast majority of topics on a subject.
I've stopped using it because it's so unsatisfactory. It's really a great loss, though.
