I am sorry, but I fail to see how or why the feelings of such people need to be respected.

Friends,
It is written here,[...who gets to make those distinctions?...].
Actually, courts have ruled on such. In The US , Charles Manson could not sue for defamation of character based on his character. Neither could Hitler if he was alive or any of Hitler's relatives if he has any. AAs for public figures, they are based on that they fall under a differnt standard than non-public figures. You can defame the President of the US with cartoons and such. This is because public figures to be defamed have a standard to show that malice is intended.
Now on a mental health forum, I have challenged posts here that defame Scientologists, Christians, Jews and others. Deceased people have been the subject here and as I can remember, have not been subject to the same standard here.

Gardenergirl,
Thx for the support..That is exactly what I meant.. I was referring to suicide bombers. these are extremists.. Muslims are against violence and are for living peacefully.. I asked Dr Bob about it and he replied that he understood but didn't want anyone who is muslim to think they are being called stupid. I understand that.
I was kind fo surprised and felt bad that I got "repremanded" because I am sensitive and really try not to say things that might hurt others but I can see his point in that some people might misunderstand.
thx for sticking up for me!!

Here's a link to the dictionary look-up feature:

It means that GG is a good person, whether an ex-deputy or a plain old poster. A mensch is a good thing!

Hi,
Well I feel kind of awkward about this. I could be mistaken, but I have the feeling that it's really nellie7's post that you are referring to when you thanked me for sticking up for you. Not that I don't support you and your feelings on that topic, but she's the one who wrote that she didn't think you were being insensitive. Though I quoted her and replied to her in my post here, I thought of my reply as something less directly related to the rest of the thread, and that's partly why I directed my reply here to admin.I can relate to what you said about being sensitive, because I am, too. I know that PBC's and PBS's, etc. can sting, especially if the person didn't intend and wasn't aware of the potential for harm to someone else. I hope you still feel supported in your feelings you expressed despite the "please be sensitive."
Take care,
gg

I had a "big picture" idea of what it meant, but I figured I'd better look it up just to be sure.
Thanks,
