Anyone using the new collapse function?

Posted by Dinah on November 19, 2007, at 10:53:31

I kind of like watching the twists and turns a thread takes, so I'm not sure I'll use it.

But I think it could potentially be a useful feature.

I like it, it is kinda like the ignore button in chat.

I'm still hopeful for an "ignore" button. That would save me some angst for certain.

What and where is it as I've always seen threads change direction hence I get on some to see where they will go. Phillipa

There is now a small box with a "-" inside of it beside (in front of) the first post in every thread.

Click on it a couple of times, and you'll see the thread collapse, then expand again.

I tried it and see what you mean. Why would I want to use it? Phillipa

If you have cookies, there's an option at the top of the board to collapse the threads every time you open the page, after this time.

And I think the idea is that some people like the cleaner look of the collapsed threads.

Dinah I understand now as last night couldn't figure out why when I clicked on a link there were replies that I couldn't see til the thread was opened. Phillipa
