Reminder re: Babblemail and Notifying Admin

Posted by Deputy 10derHeart on October 6, 2007, at 11:15:04

Just a comment for those who have, or may in the future, send us notifications through the 'Notify the Administrators' button.

If you would like a reply from one of the deputies - and we do aim to reply to 100% of the notifications (as a common courtesy even if you don't specifically ask for a reply) - you will have to turn on your Babblemail. To increase privacy and confidentiality, deputies do not have access to posters' email addresses. So, if you don't have Babblemail turned on, we have no way to reply to a notification.

You do that by updating your registration - here:

Of course, if you don't mind waiting for Dr. Bob, then that's fine, as he can use your actual email address. But sometimes, that will be quite a long wait, where we tend to answer notifications quickly (the same day) almost all the time.

Just wanted to mention this, as I see it happening more often lately. It is frustrating for the deputies who would like to 1) take care of your concerns as quickly as possible, and 2) relieve Dr. Bob's workload.

This is in no way meant to 'pressure' anyone who doesn't want to use the Babblemail feature to use it - just a reminder that deputies can't communicate with you privately otherwise.

Thanks, - 10derHeart
