Are There Rules About Posting Too Much????

Posted by Phillipa on June 27, 2007, at 22:48:32

Not to make anyone upset but are there rules about posting too much as I've been criticized in the last two days for posting on meds. I don't frequent the others boards except social and sometimes psychology, now admin, used to post on self-esteem. But I'm been searching the boards and notice that a lot of posters post on all the boards? So are there rules as long as you're civil? And if I have been on a med why is it wrong to post about my experience unless someone says specifically positive posts only. Thanks Phillipa I see now why some have e-mailed me that they have left. Not to be negative. But I'm not aggressive and never will be not in my nature.

Just read the faq and see that there are no rules reguarding posting two much other then three consequetive threads. Question answered. I was amazed though searching the archieves to see how many posters post their e-mails and saw it was advised to make up a bogus account and name and how to do it. Love Phillipa

I am not aware of any restrictions as to how much one is allowed to post. And FYI Philippa, I think your posts are valuable and you add a nice touch to Psycho-Babble.

Over the years, some frequent posters have drawn the ire of other posters. I don't think this is new. As far as I know, other then the three post rule, there are no guidelines as to the number of posts one can have. I do wonder the rationale or need for someone to post frequently or binge post. The antiaddiction thingie is there. I think that's good for folks who may get too immersed and the immersion amy be harmful to them. It does not address fully if posting behavior is a complusion - which could be a problem for some.

While there are no rules as to the number of posts a poster can make (with the aforementioned exceptions) there are also no rules as to what other posters may feel is annoying, irritating, not meeting their expectations or feel may be problematic in their opinion.

There are no rules to how anyone may *feel*. But there are rules about expressing those feelings.

I have no prob your posts at all.
Its nice you care.
Sometimes I post alot, sometime a little.
If someone doesn't want to read them, they don't have to.
Simple as that.
