Am I misunderstanding something, or are there complete porn stuff happening on social?
One of us has been hacked again.

I recently told someone from another part of the internet about this place because that person was looking for information and support.
The kind of crap on social about various kinds of internet sex and sites to see naked pictures makes me embarrassed that I bothered.
I'm done here. I'm really disappointed. I'm not a prude, but there are people here who don't need that. there is an entire internet for that kind of communication.

If there are posts that you feel are uncivil, could you please report them using the Notify Administrators button?
I saw that thread and avoided it altogether. Not my kind of stuff, even in jest. Thanks

Help and support on med-related issues is available on the main board, of which I'm a prolific contributor. There's also help and support for psychological issues and counseling on the psychology board, and many others besides. On Social it's generally accepted that pretty much anything goes, so long as potentially triggering material contains a warning in the subject line and is not uncivil towards any particular poster participating in the site.
Some issues are controversial, like eating disorders for example, and some people find those discussions 'triggering'. The trigger warning system was invented so vulnerable people could avoid such material while still allowing those who found the discussion helpful, supportive (and even entertaining) to participate.
Where I come from that type of vulgar humor is normal. There's even soft porn in family newspapers and very few really take offense to it. I'm sorry to hear you're embarrassed and bothered by it, also good to hear you followed the trigger warnings and avoided reading the posts and clicking on the links. All the potentially offensive pictures were deleted so there should be no cause for alarm should anyone accidentally click on the links. Please accept my sincere apologies.

I personally would prefer not to have that sort of stuff on babble.
Its SUPPOSED to be a safe place.....
Knowing there's stuff like that allowed does NOT make me feel safe AT ALL.
It makes me feel sick and slightly scared.
Many on babble have been sexually exploited, or just feel unsafe round others for a variety of reasons...
Fortunately it was on social and I rarely go there.
If it had been on psychology, I would no longer post there.
There are other places you can talk about stuff like that. Or you can b-mail. I do not think that babble is a place for such discussions.
I also had thought that posting links to inaapropriate stuff was not allowed? Can you deputies or Bob clarify this?
The pictures have been removed from that thread, but I can still figger what they might possibly have been. And it seems to me they were proly inappropriate on a site of this nature.
Sometimes that sort of stuff makes that part of me that flips and screams and says I wanto die goe off.
I am sad.

Yes muffled I understand what you're saying. Something was done to me as a boy that left me very traumatized and violated, but which is normal in some parts of the world. Whenever I see websites that make light of it, or try to justify it I get a cold, panicky feeling, at times my hands and lower arms go numb and tingly. I can't really tolerate any discussion of it either - it leaves me feeling shocked and disorientated for days afterwards. I wasn't thinking that someone might feel the same way about porn, maybe because it's considered fairly normal where I come from and people make light of it. I'm sorry it's made you feel that babble is unsafe.

considering triggers?
considering what is allowed?
considering civility by all parties involved?i'll gladly play by the rules, if i'm informed (and pardon me, but i'm rather dense. it may take a 'you may do 'this' and may not do 'this')
sorry (no, maybe i'm not sorry. kk shouldn't have to apologize for being kk and having a sense of humor) but i need a thick line drawn to know what's allowable and what's not. i do have a rather wicked sense of humor and a pretty dirty mouth.
just being me,
kk

Muffled I know you've had a terrible time but Social is a place a lot of topics are talked about and it did contain a trigger. When you see that on Social maybe not read? And then there is the relationships board definitely stay away from there as at times it can be very triggering. Hope you're feeling better. Love Phillipa
