Had to re-register because when I tried to post, I got a message saying there was a problem with my email address. I would like my old name (confuzyQ) back, only I need to change its associated email addy, and there appears to be no option for that here. (Except maybe emailing bob about it, which presumably would take a long time these days.)
After the hacking it was advised that we might want to use a more anonymous email address to sign up with. But the free disposable email addy service I used has a monthly bandwidth limit, and with notifications and babblemails from just two-days worth of starting to post again, it was apparently exceeded. Now nothing can get through to the addy I signed up with until next month. (Hey! That might be a great way to limit one's posting activity at least!)
Until this is cleared up, and I hopefully get my other name back but can change the addy associated with it, anyone who wants to babblemail me should use confuzyq_temp I guess.

I can't help you with the registration problem, but will say that the free excite.com email addresses have a pretty high tolerance. My spam alone fills a mighty wide width...
Good luck getting it worked out.

It just amazes me that there is no option to change one's email addy themself. Such a simple thing, rather than waiting for the admin to process it, who in this case is MIA.
Seems to me that others besides bob have been able to iron out registration probs related to email but, o well I didn't plan to let myself get sucked into the vortex again anyway! (I used to be someone else, changed names years ago, not secretly.) I'd just feel bad if someone tried to babblemail confuzyq since now it wouldn't get through and they'd think I ignored them.
Btw, thanks for the tip, I do have free email accounts at services with huge allotments, and used one of them to re-reg with this here name. But in my post-hacking reg update, I used a free disposable email addy service, one of those that generate nonsense strings of numbers and letters at will, which fwd to your real addy. Forgot that those services have way limited bandwidth (and no storage at all), unless you upgrade.

I just checked on the Registration page, at https://dr-bob.securesites.com/cgi-bin/pb/signup.pl, and there's a box on it to use for changing your email address. I used the "Update your registration" feature, the second of the three choices, and got straight to it. There it is, to be entered twice, the email address used to receive notifications and BabbleMails, etc.
Give it another try -- it's weird that you got something different.
I hope that helps.

Testing testing... Ok assuming this goes through, under my preferred other name... Might I say... D'oh! I really tried to find an option to change the addy myself before I started this thread. Thanks for saying "It's weird that (I) got something different" lol. I guess I didn't look as hard as I thought. And I just (just!) emailed bob about it. Oh well, he'll get over it I expect. Thanks!
