Lou's reminder to Dr. Hsiung-

Posted by Lou Pilder on February 23, 2007, at 13:05:40

DR. Hsiung,
In accordance with your reminder procedure, The following:
The request from me is asking for you to clarify as to if you have received the notification from me in question.
I sent the notification on January 24. The page that comes up after the notification is sent read {confirmation} and says that your message will be delivered to Dr. Bob and the deputy administrators and writes thank you for being a part of the community.
You wrote back to me to resend it to you and I wrote back to you that I could do that if you and none of the deputies have received it.
My overiding question now is if I can have the notification responded to without resending it.

Dr. Hsiung,
The notification says that it {will} be delivered. I sent it.
The impotance here is that the notification has to do with requesting from you your rationale for allowing to be posted what I have been told by you that I can not post.
If there are two standards, then I feel put down and devalued here if I have to be subjected to another condition than others. And I do not like feeling put down by thinking that your policy here denies me equal access to the features here or if I am subjected to a diffeent standard than other members.
When others are not held to the same standard that I am here, then I feel that there is the potential to foster a hostile environment toward me, for I feel inferior and other IMO have the potential to feel superior because they have theor notifications responded to as seen on the administration board where the member writes a thank you. And when statements that have the potential to lead Jews to feel put down are treated differently than statements that could lead some other to feel put down, then could not there be a hostile environment fostered here toward Jews?
I am asking you to have dialog with me concerning if I have the condition to me or not to resend the notification or not because there is much more IMO to this than just receiving a response to the notification.

DR. Hsiung,
Your policy in your TOS reads,[...It's fine to post about the actions we take..and about the policies here in general...].
Your policy here concerning the notification feature is that the notification will be responded to either by email or by posting in the thread in question. I have received niether of those since I sent the notification on January 24.
Your policy is something about waiting {2 days} for you to respond before a reminder is sent as some type of time period. If your policy is that you will respond, could not your policy be to do so within 2 days also? If not, why not?

DR. Hsiung,
You wrote,[...I did get it...I'll respond asap...thanks for your paitience...]
Does this then mean that you will now also respond to the requests from me to you about posts that IMO have the potential to arrouse antisemitic feelings that you have allowed to let stand?
You wrote to me that if you did do that, that could [..bring the past into the present...]. But you thanked me for my patience after a post that was in the past was responded by you now in the present. Would not posts that have the potential to lead a Jew to feel put down that you have let stand also deserve the same consideration as you have done now to a post that is not connected to a post that has the potential to lead a Jew to feel put down? If not , why not?
I am asking you to respond by posting that the statements that you have let stand without notating them as being uncivil, that could lead a Jew to feel put down or could arrouse antisemitic feelings, or could be accusative to Jews, or not sensitive to a Jew, to be notated as being uncivil even if they are in the past. For it is my thinking that when something in the past can be resolved, it could be better for the community in the present and the future.
Lou Pilder
