Just my opinion but if a post can't be removed why could a whole thread be removed? I would like to see the rant removed but the other posts returned. So it can continue to help the originator of the thread. Thanks Love Phillipa

I could be wrong, but I dont' think any posts which were on-topic versus in direct reply to the deleted posts were removed.
