I would like to walk up to you and slap you unexpectedly on the face, hard.
Think about how that would feel...?
Would you be shocked, angry, confused, hurt......?
Cuz thats how it feels with some of the more questionable blocks....
Where a pbc would have been more appropriate.
When the poster inquestion truly meant no harm...
I wish i could make you understand....
:-(
But your safe, I don't live near you! ;-o
Just don't tell me if you comming to Canada!!!!!LOL!
Muffled
(p.s. FYI, I don't hit people, there's already enough hurts around :(

I am very heartened to hear that you don't intend it to be unexpected, or that your implying that they meant to harm others...(but then WHY the block????)
But does that mean you DO intend to have shock and hurt?
You DO understand that blocks cause pain? YOU DO????
THEN WHY DO YOU BLOCK OVER THE SILLIEST THINGS (IMO anyways)sometimes???????? Where there is not likely to be any large amt of hurt as a result of the post? When a pbc would clear things up just fine?
You CREATE hurt where there was NONE, when you block in these circumstances. There may be a possibility of hurt, MAYBE. But with the block, there is GUARANTEED hurt.
You blocked me over f*rt for crying out loud. For overriding the asterisk over F*RT?????? I was hurting NOONE. I was having a human moment in as undamaging way as I could...
You hurt me. I seriously doubt anyone was offended or hurt by it.
That is just an example.
So mebbe you can think to yourself, weigh the pain as it were, BEFORE you jump on a block.
That being said, I think overall there have been less blocks, I know i have screwed up at least once and it was let slide....
I dunno you from squat. I am trying to beleive that you DO actually care, but mebbe for all your education, you miss the point on some of this interpersonal stuff.
I'd like to think your a nice person.
So excuse me if I have offended you.
But I feel like a lab rat.
So just as a matter of interest, meaning no harm to anyone, and not thumbing my nose at your asterisk system,
but, f art.
Hmmmmm. Red flag in front of a bull?
Do YOU feel like a lab rat now????
Hmmmmmm.

I thought it was COMPLETELY shocking that she was not given a PBC or warning regarding her post ob the politics board that resulted in a block of many many long weeks.
FYI, I am the dependent of an active duty member of the US Armed Forces. I was not offended in the SLIGHTEST by that post, and I am a strong supporter of the USA, and of our women and men who are fighting and working to save lives around the world. I really don't like my husband's boss, or his policies, but that's a different issue altogether.

Because others may end up feeling hurt even if that wasn't intended.
> But does that mean you DO intend to have shock and hurt?
No, my goal isn't shock or hurt, but I do realize those are potential consequences.
> I feel like a lab rat.
Which means powerless? I'm sorry if that's the case.

But please don't take this personally, either, this doesn't mean I don't like you or think you're a bad person.
If you or others have questions about this or about posting policies in general, or are interested in alternative ways of expressing yourself, please first see the FAQ:
http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html#civil
http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html#enforceFollow-ups regarding these issues, as well as replies to the above post, should of course themselves be civil.
Thanks,
Bob

But if you block, you DO hurt guaranteed.(intentionally, I might add..)

I think blocks SHOULD happen. But AFTER there has been a pbc or warning of some type, so that the poster has an opportunity to see the error of their ways....
And so, have an opportunity to correct their actions....
And so learn.
Of course there are OVERT incivilities in which noone would question an immediate block....
Its the ones where there is even a shadow of a doubt that should be given a warning IMO.

It's always interesting to see what people do, but I'm not messing with you just for that reason, in the name of science or anything else...
