Dr Bob?

Posted by alexandra_k on October 15, 2006, at 6:53:31

If you hired someone to click the links on the ads all day...
Would you make a profit?

How are you doing?
Are you ok?

:-)

Do you get more money if the links are clicked?

I could click a few links every day, without undergoing any overload of my clicking faculties.

But I thought it was just having the ads and having taffic, rather than having clicks. Not that that particularly makes sense.

Although having numbers of clicks influence revenue does provide the incentive to hire a few people to click, thereby raising revenue-- hence perhaps it does makes sense after all.

I'm OK. I hope you're OK. I'm sorry you're blocked again.

I'm going to miss alex a lot. I wish there were some other way to handle things. Nine weeks is such a very long time.

I wish I could think of a way to keep alex (and others, but in my particular world, alex) around. :(

Sorry you're blocked. 9 weeks is an awfully long time, but it's going to be OK because there's still chat and you mostly use chat nowadays anyways. :-)

I'll see you in chat!

I thought yes because Yahoo chat let blocked posters chat.

You don't know eh? You're practically a deputy and you don't know?

In that case, I don't know either. I sure hope blocked posters can chat.

Bob, com'on, you don't let blocked posters chat?

They could before, how come you won't let them chat now?

Bob, you think maybe this will deter posters from being uncivil? You're probably right, but com'on, don't you think you're being a little ______ here?

Bob, it's harder to like you when you hurt my friends. Still love you, but harder to like you.

Bob, I just imagine that Alex is really hurting right now. I think it was good to say you hope she's OK.

If I ever get blocked, could you say that to me? You know how I get when I'm blocked.

Can you fix it or is there something wrong with her e-mail?

We can Babblemail her right? It's just she can't reply right?

:-( Bob, I don't like you very much right now. (Still love you though, is this confusing or what?)

I want to make sure Alex is OK!

((((((((((Alexandra k))))))))))))))

Bob, I think you should give Alex a hug.

It seems like there's something wrong with her email. You're supposed to be able to babblemail her, though she won't be able to reply by babblemail. But if you're willing to give her your email address, she can reply that way.

Perhaps you might use your sorrow to rephrase something like this

something like

I'm sorry I blocked you despite my knowledge of the pain my blocks have caused you in the past

Obviously something is not working here

I will reform the blocking system I designed immediately so that it will not happen again to you or others

and then my sorrow will be gone

....might be nice

always refreshing to read your contributions :) (nm) » zazenducky

I guess I wonder where the part about Alex's responsibility comes in? She was blocked for somethingshe did, something she decided to post -- I have to admit, I didn't see where she was blocked, so I don't know exactly what that was. I do think it was nice of Dr Bob to post something like that to her, and I'm sorry she was blocked, and I imagine she is hurting and I'm sorry about that, too. But I still think it's important to keep sight of her contribution to the situation that brought it about.

Just my two cents worth, and cheap at half the price...

Let X be posting something which could be seen as against the civility guidelines.

One poster posts X 10 times and is never sanctioned at all.

One poster posts X 10 times and is warned 10 times but never blocked.

One poster posts X 3 times and is blocked for 2 weeks and posts X twice and is blocked for 6 weeks and posts X twice more and is blocked for 18 weeks and posts X once more and is blocked for a year.

So Alex's part is posting X but the block length is obviously not related to that. It is a consequence of some other outside factor.

Do you understand now?

Do you know how many times you have been cautioned in the last 6 months? Have you been blocked yet? Why not? I think I got 2 PBCs and then Deputyggirl blocked me. Why? what is different-if the X factor is similiar?

.........

...........
Sure all I'm asking Bob to do is keep in sight his contribution and and use that insight to make things better.

I don't know what to make of Bob...but I generally give him the benefit of the doubt and think he's trying. I believe he probably was trying to be nice. I was just trying to help him in that effort.
