My pbc on social, I'm sorry

Posted by James K on February 6, 2006, at 1:03:02

I've spent a whole day feeling bad about this. I wasn't sure if addressing this would make it worse or help get me (and us?) over it. I had no right to put such ugliness on this board. I'm sorry if any of you read it. I'm not sure, but I think someone got pbc'ed for protesting my statements. If that is the case, please don't hold to that.

I have great respect for this board and Dr. Bob's way of maintaining it. I fully understand that I wasn't blocked because it was my first offense. I'm having a very hard time in my life with anger and defensiveness. I lashed out in hurt and desire to hurt. We don't come here for that. I've been in treatment. I was drunk and destructive. I've been in hospital because of these kind of things IRL, and am arranging to go back very soon.

In the meantime, I am going to be very careful and respectful. If anyone is angry with me and feels to tell me about it, I understand, and will be respectful of their comments, babblemail or real email. I don't want further hurt on the board. I just wish I had left well enough alone. I'm sorry.

what it... the first time a poster logs on for a session they get a red flag list: to date you have had "XX" number of PBC, "XX" Please rephrase, and a summary of the blockings: "X" number at 1 week, "X" number at 2 weeks. etc.

Then a cut and paste of the FAQs about the civility rules as a remider of what the rules actually are.

It feels like that are many people getting blocked not too quickly after their previous block. Implying maybe, unfinished business? or perhaps someone not cooled off who need a reread of the FAQs.

That's an interesting idea, thanks. OTOH, you can lead a horse to the FAQ...

James,
I'm real happy to see you post an apology. Frankly, that post was a jaw dropper for me. Anyone can tell from your words that you were deeply hurt, and not yourself.
It's tough during those times to maintain composure. You said that you've been in the hospital. I have too... quite a few times over the past few years. Maybe when you come to the boards, you can think of how you need to behave in the hospital. You might want to lash out, but you don't because you don't want to spend time in the quiet room.
Same thing here. You might want to lash out, but you don't want to get blocked. More importantly, you don't want to hurt others.
I have tremendous admiration for you for taking ownership for what you said. You are an honorable person, and I hope you stay around.

I agree with Deidre (beautifully put as usual)
It was very apparent that you were hurt, and I really admire an apology.

I usually appreciate an apology, but James if you have a pattern of behaving that way when you're drunk, and you know that, yet you go on drinking, well to me that just says to expect more of the same in the future, despite all the regret you feel when you're sober. So the apology means a lot less to me.

I HATE that *^*((*^ BUTTON!!!!

Sorry Diedre, that wasn't directed at you.
I have button issues.
It's very rare that people should actually think their name in the subject heading means anything when the post is from me :{
It's a *very* good thing I don't work at a nuclear power plant.

I apologized to the board, and that means the babble community - all members - at the time. I invited comment, and got some. In case you all missed it, I'm putting it back on the board. You can all comment again if you want. I will be gone and will never read them, but if it makes you feel better. Whatever. I can't believe I'm even thinking about this right now. Reread the entire thread on social and admin. I haven't.

Thanks again,
James K

((((((((((James)))))))))))
I got no problem with you.
You blew up.
I do that too.
At least your trying to deal with stuff. You seem like a really nice person.
MY problem is with Dr.Bob not removing the post as it is hurtful, and of course, there it is forever, for people to look at and burn themselves over despite themselves, cuz that just the way some are built.
Both parties to 'the post' asked for it to be removed, so I just don't get it.

So, no offense to you James. You've done what you can to make amends.
You take care, and I hope all this stuff your going thru works out and is not too hard.
Thinking of you James.
