Sorry, Bob. I feel bad that I didn't realize that part of the rule; I would've complied. And I'm officially doing so now.
pseudoname used to post under another name
> Thanks, but for the record, there's also a procedure now for changing your posting name:
>> 3. Post a message (under your new name) at
>> Psycho-Babble Administration to let others
>> know that you used to post under a different
>> name.... YOU DON'T HAVE TO SAY WHAT YOUR OLD
>> NAME WAS. [emphasis added]

Dr. Bob, if that only if you don't want others to know who you were? And add old name if you do? Fondly, Phillipa

Dr. Bob, In other words you just say you changed your posting name. No reason to say what previous name was? Hope this is clearer. Fondly, Phillipa

There may be reasons to say what your previous name was, you just don't have to.

Dr Bob!
Both my current ID ("pseudoname") and my old ID are popping up as the name in the "posted by" spot on my posts. Also, I am getting duplicate email alerts.
I sent you a Babblemail 30 minutes ago about this, but I wanted to go on record publicly to avoid any hint of skulduggery.
I guess you're merging my 2 records. Thanks!

Weird. Your old name pops up by default in the posting form? So you can change it? Or you submit the form with your new name and it comes out with your old name?
Can you forward to me an example of duplicate alerts? Thanks for your patience,
Bob

Problem solved. Apparently I unconsciously logged in using my old name & password, posted a few times, then logged in with my current name & continued posting. Thus I generated "duplicate" alerts to myself for this thread: http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/20051126/msgs/583928.html
I apologize to Dr Bob & the board. I had no intention of misleading anyone, and I think the person most confused by this is me. My complete lack of memory for using the alternate ID (AND PASSWORD!) is a little unsettling.
