Hi everyone,
In the interest of reducing crazy-making, I wanted to let you know that I deleted the posts made by a blocked poster and those related. Thanks to those who asked said poster to be civil and to the group for remaining within community guidelines in responding to these posts.

Hi GG
How do you know Dear_sweetie was a blocked poster? It was self evident? Or you have a device that does it for you? Or the posts were inflammatory and repeated blocked posts? Something else?

Hi Declan,
I wonder if, (not now of course lol) if I was to change my name to example something completely different to Nickengland, but carried on posting in the way I usually do on the boards ~ would some other posters pick up on my messages and think ~ that sounds familar, kinda like Nickengland style..
I know of one example where a poster changed their name (shes quite a card ;-) and soon after people new who she was...
I guess sometimes if you've been posting here for quite a while, your posting style can become familar, so when the name changes (if it does) people notice that the messages are the same style and format etc but the posting name is different...
I don't know, I guess when you're communicating online everything can seem anonymous, but its nice to know on here who you're speaking with I think - by knowing their posting name, even if its not their real name if you know what I mean you get familar with them, and it makes it less chaotic and random..
If I changed my name - would people know it was me? ~ lol I remember Alexandra did it alittle while ago and got spotted after the first post! (very cleverly done!)
Kind regards
Nick

Hi Declan,
At the moment, deputies do not have the technical ability to verify posters with multiple screen names to the extent that Dr. Bob does. In cases where there is an escalation to a thread or threads, deputies may use their best judgment, based on past history, patterns of posting, similarities in language, etc. to make the decision to block a screen name as coming from a blocked poster.
In the case of Dear_sweetie, there was enough content and style that was similar to scambuster and maryk to come to that conclusion, imo. In addition, I made the decision because the poster re-posted deleted posts.
Dr. Bob has the ability to overturn my decision (any deputy action) and (I believe) to restore deleted posts if appropriate.

Hmmmmm~Now who could you be referring to? That's a *really* hard one Nick ; ) lol
I too recall when Alex tried to change her name and it was figured out immediately. That was quick on the other persons part!
I agree 100% that majority of the posters here have a certain style that becomes a *familiarity* w/ other posters.
Okay it is 4:40am and I want a pancake w/ oooey goooey syrup!
