Dr. Bob,
Out of curiosity, which browser's do you use for testing the
functionality of your site? I seem to recall you stating somewhere that
you handle the design and programming of the site; please correct me if
I'm wrong.Without elaborating on the details at the moment, I've noticed some
rather odd behaviors that occur when using the Mozilla browser
(Seamonkey--I don't use Firefox) to interact with your
site--specifically, in the handling of forms data when posting messages.
I have not tested any other browsers with this site.Dave

I use firefox, and once I'd got over the initial cookie problem, I'm not finding any other problems with it - Oh, and other than it doesn't warn me when I've not posted a message that I've composed but clicked on another message!!
Whats the problem you're having? I know theres a fair few of us here that use Firefox

Someone else came up with the solution when they were having the same problem.
I had to clear my cookies in both IE and Firefox.. and that solved the problem.. OK, so first time after the cookie clear, ALL posts were marked as new, but since then theres been no problems at all.
To do it in Firefox, go to Tools, Options. Then when the Options box has opened, click on the "Privacy" button on the side (picture of a padlock). Then, next to where it says "cookies" click the button that says "clear".

Interesting.
I use mozilla on linux at work and it *always* reminds me if I don't confirm.
And I use netscape at home on xp and it *never* reminds me if I don't confirm.
Could it be an xp thing?

Works fine on IE with XP..
Doesn't even tell me its blocked a pop up in Firefox which is wierd!

Right, but there's thousands of viral reasons not to use IE.
Think microsoft would be clever enough to make other browsers work funny??? Naaahhhhh.

I would never underestimate the ability of MS to cause problems for competitors. What is this confirm thing? I've never gotten any such notice with any browser linux or wintendo.
