>Well...Bob I thought of just as effective way to deal with issues on this board, and that is to eliminate the Admin board and instead have yourself and a few deputies email addy's available as the 'customer complaint/suggestion' route. Doesn't that make a heck of a lot more sense, then people airing their (insert whatever you want to call it...issues..etc.) for public view? As we say on many other board's..."take it to private email." What do you think?? Just imagine peaceful return to dealing with the actual issues P.B. was mean't to!

There is a suggestion thats being discussed up the board about the use of a "complaint" button that would be on each post, so that if someone objected to the content of a post they could automatically report it.
I think that would make the whole thing much better. The admin boad, complaints / requests for civility rulings aside, does have a useful function. Discussing the way the board runs, additional functions, ideas for extra boards etc is really good, and being able to discuss those ideas with the whole community is a really useful method to finding solutions. Such as this discussion!
Maybe the admin board itself just needs its function changed..

Friends,
It is written here, [...its....sad...some people only post here...].
I am requesting that if you decide to post to this thread that you find out who the {some people} are here that post {only} [here].
I am a member that posts a lot hear, but I want you to understand that I want to be a contributing member on othe rboards here, and I have been in the past.
But there is something much greater here that I would like to address that takes my time to be mostly on the administrative board. It is not my intention to be mostly here.
Someone asked me to recently come over to the social board. I would like to, but others here post things that I feel that I have to addres on the administrative board before I can have the time for the social board. I it is "sad" , I am requesting that before you post to this thread to ask yourself what the "sad" is.
Best wishes to you all,
Lou

That's exactly what I would suggest too. Most of the forums I'm a part of use that method and it works great. This way everything can be dealt with behind the scenes. I've seen it done two different ways. The first is a button that basically would do a babblemail. This is how I've seen most forums do it. The second way is a button that would flag a post, and if a certain number of people flag it then it gets reported. This is how Craigslist.org does it. Either method works very well.

> Maybe the admin board itself just needs its function changed..I completely agree. I don't think anyone should close this section. It really does serve a good purpose [other than all these interesting posts (that's the nicest way I can put it) over the last week or so]. I've only been on here a few weeks and this is the section that has helped me get a good feel for what's acceptable and what isn't. Rather than me opening my big mouth (which happens often!) and finding things out the hard way, I've been able to use things discussed in this forum as a gauge to what I can and cannot say.
And this is a great place to ask questions if you don't understand something. It's so much better to have an open forum where questions of a technical nature can be asked rather than emailing Dr. Bob (or a deputy) every time. The poor guy has a life and a job. If someone else on the forum can answer a question, that's works fine for me.
This section definitely needs to stay put. :-)
