I notice that a "deputy" administrator has posted on this page an unusual request, as coming from a deputy, that someone comply with terms of service regarding a request by another member that they limit interaction with that member.
I also notice that the primary administrator has made no appearance on this board for about two days, with the exception of suggesting tee-shirt designs for those who attended an in-person party. And during that time, a rather strong discussion has occured here, which for the most part has remained dignified despite starkly different views on core issues regarding the merits of this service.
However, during that time a particular poster has written that anyone who does not dissagree with current U.S. policies regarding appropriation of resources to fight a particularly lethal syndrome, but which is not one of the leading causes of death among the aggregated U.S. population, is liable for a "sick joke."
And I have asserted, contrary to the claim that anyone so asserting is liable for a "sick joke," that current budgetary appropriations are made in good faith by duly elected officials.
Therefore I request of whatever persons are assigned or granted the role of deputy administrator that they review statements on this board in which those advocating a particular policy are said to be perpetrating "sick joke" and that the deputy or deputies respond according to expectations described in the terms of service for this site, particularly regarding interactions with myself in which these terms were used.

Deputies are limited to acting only in escalating situations. I do not see that this situation meets the qualifications for escalating, so I am rightly leaving it for Dr. Bob to decide.

I believe he's watching the posts to see if we can solve the problems without his intervention as adults should. Fondly, Phillipa

I am not familiar with concensus opinions on how adults should solve problems. At least some majority opinions, as recognized by a history of sustained legislative decisions, allow that adults solve problems through warfare. Can to eleborate on which posts he is watching to see if problems are solved as "as adults should", which ones he might be intervening on as part of a "dialectical behavioral therapy" model, which he is intervening on "for the good of the group" and how he might incorporate these different approaches in a uniform algorithm that can be defined in spreadsheet terms?

Linehan's model? I don't understand.
I'm very familiar with DBT, and other models based on DBT. I have not seen any therapy being practiced on this board by Dr. Bob, neither have I seen DBT or therapies modelled after DBT being applied as therapy. I'm curious, who do you see as the objects of this approach here on Babble?

Do you think that post might have been facetious- comparing the "as adults should method" to D.B.T?
That's how I took it.
I'm going to go back to bed now, and minding my own business.

This was in reference to a suggestion -- apparently in another thread -- that DBT is applied in other groups, which I recall were presented in comparison as potentially prefered models for this one. My interest in his therapuetic intent in piqued by his statement (or statements - and again in other threads I've not time to fish out) that suggest he perceives his methods here to have coincidental thereapuetic effects.
I wonder, when a person does something that coincidentally happens to routinely serve another purpose than the stated purpose, and when they are trained in the means and advocates of the goals of a coincidental purpose, if it is not worthwhile to more carefully consider their secondary coincidental purpose, and whether the means achieving that purpose are occuring outside the normal controls used to assure satisfactory results by those means.

What controls are you wondering about in regards to some coincidental thing happening?
