Counting Posters

Recently, there was a question posed by a poster of the number of posters at this site. As I understand the info in the stats section, that count is for "handles" and therefore, does not take into account changes of ID's or multiple ID's (not acceptable, but is done). The stats are a count of registrations from the site inception until the last noted date, is that correct?

um. I thought 'handles' meant number of new threads...

It does say the number of registered posters as well...

But it would be interesting to see how many if we scrap the ones who were blocked for posting under a different name and scrapped the ones who posted only 3 or 4 posts a couple of years ago....
