The least you can do is give me that apology now, properly personalized and credited.
I'm still utterly mad and disappointed in you, you know.
But you have many fine and useful qualities. I just wish one of them was seeing my wisdom.

I've really thought about these possible new boards and think they probably would be good for the community because they would give posters more options. However, I realize that although I do my best to do what I believe is in the best interests of the community, this distresses you. I sincerely regret that. While I may not proceed in the way that you would wish, I do want to tell you that I and the community value you for your devotion, empathy, and wisdom. I hope this doesn't unduly affect your continued relationship with us. Best wishes,
Bob

And thanks for smiling at me, Dr. Bob. It makes things a wee bit more tolerable.
(We can address the "best wishes" another time. I'm tired.)

You were racking up those points.. you got points for sincerity, points for charm, points for humor.. and then crash and burn with the "best wishes" No no no.. not "Best wishes"
Not for Dinah, Best wishes is something you see photocopied on the bottom of those tacky calendars the bank leaves out in stacks at Christmas time.

But at the bottom of such a beautifully written apology, it looked much nicer, don't you think? ;)
I think he gets full points this time.

I found that apology touching. I think it was the P.S. line that did it.
This is the end of the thread.
