i don't expect to get a warm goodbye, here, but i am leaving. i wanted to let you know my reasons. this board has tarnished my relationships with fellow posters and the moderator. i am aghast at how rude some of you are, just because you disagree with someone. dr. bob, this site really is ridiculous. this board makes me so sad. never in my life have i seen such a complex mess of misunderstanding. i hope you PBers have enough class not to wish me a nasty goodbye. if you would like to say something to me, babblemail or email me only, as i will not be coming back here to read any responses to this thread or any others. i'll miss some of you..

Hi there, I can't remember whether we have 'met' or not and so I don't want to babblemail you but I wanted to respond to your post.
I also find conflict hard to deal with - and I find people who deal with conflict in hurtful ways hard to deal with also.
But this is something that I can get better at because these boards give me the opportunity to learn. Or alternatively, I can stay out of the conflict (as much as possible) should I choose.
'never in my life have i seen such a complex mess of misunderstanding'
The trouble with flight is that you will never see the misunderstanding sorted out.
I hope you don't go, but if you do I wish you well.

alexandra, you have no idea how much your reply means to me. it actually made me cry. i was *so* sad. it's like your response pulled me away from the edge of a cliff. i am horribly sensitive when it comes to conflict. i guess i should work on that. thank you for your kindness, alex. thank you. you're an angel.:)
maybe i will come back, when i feel a little better.
god bless,
amy

Hey there, I was / am incredibly moved by your post. I have trouble with conflict, and so quite often I am out of touch with what is going on in the admin board becuase there is usually stacks of it in here and I choose not to deal with it or let it affect me and the only way I can do that is by not reading it.
But what that means is that I get out of touch and sometimes I get or read the situation wrong, or I shoot off at the mouth with my opinion and I don't even have all the relevant facts. That is the price I pay for my sanity, though!
By all means take a break if you need to.
Take a break especially from this board if you need to.
But don't let it interfeare (at least not more than it has to) with the friends you have made here. Don't let it interfeare with your reading their posts and supporting them. Don't let it interfeare with you posting your stuff. Thats what it is supposed to be about. This board gets too intense for me. It is reassuring to me that I am not the only one who feels that way.I am always sad to see someone go
when they contribute so much
and have so much more to give
and receiveI wish you well. Thankyou for your kindhearted response.

Thank you, Alexandra.:) my post to you came right from my heart.i appreciate your good advice and caring.:) i'm not even going to look at any more threads on admin besides this one..it is amazing the impact one person can have on another person's life.:) i wish you all the best, alexandra. i'm still shakey and a bit sad, but not nearly as bad as i was earlier, thanks to you. (who'd have thought Admin could become such a Lovefest?) :-)
take care,:)

Dear Amy,
I tried to babblemail you, but forgot to turn it on. Seeing as how you decided to return for a few follow-up responses, I figured I'd save myself the trouble. Unfortunately, I lost the message that I was going to send, and this one won't be as good.
Simply said, I am sad that you should decide to disappear. Your presence here has earned you a great deal of affection, and has acted to add a balanced perspective on many issues.
Please don't be embarrased to return if you change your mind. You wouldn't be the first.
I am particularly grateful to you for the interest you have shown in my case of bipolar disorder. Your suggestions have been valuable and not forgotton. I've written them down.
So, take care of yourself. It is a good thing that you recognize the things that are caustic to you. I hope you can recognize as easily the things about this site that have been positive for you.
Bye - for now.
:-)
- Scott

I'm jumping in here rather late since I generally try to avoid admin. I also think I can't say anything as well and on point as Scott.
I, too, hope you don't leave, particularly if your inclination to leave is based on what transpires for civil discourse on PBA. My own opinion is that if visitors to this site first came to PBA, few would stay around for a closer look. I also believe that what happens on PBA is really not at all representative of the best that this site has to offer. Lots of very valued posters never even make it over to Admin.
I think alot of what you say makes sense and from what I've read, you're obviously a caring supportive person. So my own preference is that you definitely stay around.

Why must you go?
I hope you will come back.
I am sorry if we have been rude to you.
You know you are special and I care.

I love hearing that you are better. My goodness. I'm glad you got my message.
I just got back from the East coast. We went to sit on a windy spit of land and watch ocean birds by the thousands migrating.
Once again you have got my support.
peace

amy, i will not forget you, in fact your absence made this place a lot less enjoyable for me... i did not expect to see a post that made me smile rather than wince on this battleground of an Admin board...late as this is i hope you see it..and it is true, men and women can be friends, at least online :-)

yeah, i saw it :-)
aw, zeugma..i miss you! you are like an old sweater (hope that came across the way i meant it to! :-))
this place is proving harder to get away from than i thought, lol. due to PB toxicity levels, maybe if i just confine myself to, say, the meds board like i used to, i'll be okay. but not allowed to socialize there..hmmm..too bad
anyway, thanks for your note, punkin! hehe i'll pop in and check on you on occasion.
adieu dahling,

please do. i know all about PB toxicity levels, but it seems i have acquired a tolerance- at least for the moment- if you're not allowed to socialize on the meds board, it seems that boards are proliferating like weeds these days- i can't keep up with them, so i confine myself to meds-makes life simpler :)> adieu dahling,
